[edit] Mega Man X1

[edit] Hadouken Fireball

The Hadouken Fireball is a special hidden bonus. It is important to note that this upgrade cannot be saved. You must re-obtain it every time you load a game.

First, you must have all Heart Tanks and Sub Tanks, defeated all eight mavericks, and have all upgrades.

Head to Armored Armadillo's level with 5 lives. Ride the cart at the end of the level to the chasm. Climb up the right wall of the chasm to reach a small opening in the wall with a large Energy Capsule. Pick it up and jump into the chasm. Repeat this process until Mega Man X has 0 lives. When he reaches the opening this time, a capsule will be present. Dr. Light will appear in a Ryu outfit (from the game Street Fighter) and make some interesting comments and then grant X the Hadouken, a cameo ability from Street Fighter.

To use the ability, press down, the direction X is facing, and fire (the same way you'd execute a Hadoken in Street Fighter). X will make a noise that reminiscent of Ryu or Ken saying Hadoken when the use the attack. He'll then launch a small blue blast with his palms. Thought it might not look that impressive, it is capable of destroying the final boss in one hit. Due to its power it can only be used when X has full power.

[edit] X's Weapons

X is able to obtain weapons from the Mavericks he defeats and can use them to exploit the weaknesses of other Mavericks he encounters. After obtaining the X-Buster upgrade, he can also charge the weapons and fire off a more powerful attack, although it expends more weapon energy.

[edit] Mega Man X2

[edit] Shoryuken Uppercut

The Shoryuken Uppercut is a hidden, special move in the game. Similar to the Hadouken Fireball in Mega Man X1, the Shoryuken Uppercut must be obtained through a secret Dr. Light capsule.

Requirements

Visit the X-Hunter #3 Stage (Agile's stage), and reach the area with two ladders. Use Crystal Hunter (Snail) to freeze a bat. Use the frozen bat as a platform to climb the high ladder. Proceed right along the given path. When you reach the area with spikes all over, start charging the Speed Burner (Stag). Next, air-dash over the spikes. As you are falling, use the charged Speed Burner to air-dash left. Collect the life-up item. At this point, make sure X's health is full. If it's not, use a Sub Tank to replenish his health. Now, slide along the left wall to enter a secret path. Spot the capsule, and talk to Dr. Light to obtain the Shoryuken Uppercut, another cameo ability from Street Fighter.

A combination of "right, down, down-right, buster" will let X execute this move when at full health. X will perform a flaming, curved uppercut in the direction he's facing at insane speeds. This attack can two-hit KO every boss except the final one, although it does deal great damage. It's important to note that this ability can not be saved. You must "retrieve" it every time you reload the game.

All of Zero's Parts and 8 lives are not requirements. Sub Tanks do not have to be full.

  • In 2D, the attack hurts all enemies on the screen.
  • In 3D, the attack covers a very wide range.
  • Damage to most bosses - [ ] - Decent
  • Can only be performed when the Giga Crash meter is full.
  • This meter is filled when X takes damage.
  • The meter is automatically full when X dies.
  • The Weapon Tank can not recharge energy for the Giga Crash.

[edit] X/Axl's Weapons

X and Axl receive the same weapons after defeating Mavericks. However, X is the only one that can charge these weapons. These weapons consume weapon energy. For the cost of power, the charged version consumes more weapon energy.

By default controls, special weapons are activated using the triangle button. X/Axl can switch among his weapons using L1/R1. A weapon can also be selected in the "Start" screen.

[edit] Zero's Techniques

Zero can acquire techniques after defeating Mavericks. Aside from his Giga Attack, all techniques don't consume weapon energy. They can be used an infinite number of times.

Requirements:

  • The shockwave must hit a nearby enemy.
  • Both characters must be alive.
  • The attack (yellow-green) gauge must be full.

Once done, the attack will commence. The background will be green and full of running codes (like The Matrix.) If the Double Team Attack delivers the final blow to a boss, the background will be orange instead.

  • X fires a blue laser beam at the enemy. This is the similar to the Icarus armor's charged shot.
  • Zero extends his saber and constantly slashes.
  • Axl rapidly fires with twin guns.

[edit] X's Weapons

X can acquire special weapons after defeating Mavericks. These weapons will consume weapon energy. Although the charged version is more powerful, it consumes more weapon energy.

By default controls, special weapons are activated using the triangle button. X can switch among his weapons using the L1/R1 buttons. A weapon can also be selected using the Start screen.

Note: Alia, when unlocked, shares these same weapons.

All techniques require a specific button combination to perform. Based on the weapon, some techniques have different names. The combinations listed below are for default controls. Layer, when unlocked, can also use these techniques.

[edit] Zero's Weapons

Zero can obtain different weapons to accompany his techniques. These weapons are given to Zero after unlocking them through Rare Metal, and purchasing them from the R&D lab. They differ in strength and often strengthen Zero's physical damage or alter his special weapons.

By default controls, Zero can attack with his weapons using the square button. He can toggle among his weapons using L1/R1.

Zero's weapons include:
Z-Saber
Sigma Blade
K-Knuckle
D-Glaive
B-Fan
T-Breaker

[edit] Megaman Zero

[edit] Zero's Weapons

In Mega Man Zero, Zero uses four weapons. The Buster Shot, the Z-Saber, the Shield Boomerang, and the Triple Rod.

[edit] Megaman Zero 2

[edit] Zero's Weapons

In Mega Man Zero 2 he uses the same weapons as Zero, with the Chain Rod replacing the Triple Rod.

[edit] Mega Man Zero 3

Like Zero and Zero 2, Zero 3 features EX Skills which can be obtained from beating a boss with an A Rank or higher. Note that when fighting a boss with an A or S rank, they feature an extra and more powerful attack.

[edit] Zero's Weapons

In Mega Man Zero 3, the game features the return of the Z-Saber, Buster Shot, and Shield Boomerang. This game's new weapon is the Recoil Rod, another 8 direction rod weapon.

[edit] Buster Shot

A standard weapon that fires bullets and can be charged. EX Skills alter the highest level of charged shot.

[edit] Recoil Rod

An 8 directional rod weapon that allows Zero to attack with short thrusts. The Recoil Rod is not entirely useful without EX Skills unless charged. When charged, Zero can use it to break through cracked walls, push objects, toss enemies away, and propel himself off the ground if used downward from mid-air.

[edit] Shield Boomerang

The Shield Boomerang is held directly in front of Zero and reflects all bullets fired at Zero. When charged, Zero throws it as a slicing boomerang. The charged shot can be modified through EX Skills.

[edit] Z-Saber

Zero's standard weapon. The Z-Saber has the highest weapon potential through EX Skills and Cyber Elves. Initially, Zero can perform a three slash combo on the ground and a mid-air slash while jumping. In Zero 4, Zero's weapons consist of his buster, his famous saber, and his new Z Knuckle. The Z Knuckle is a weapon that opens a lot of possibility due to its ability to steal weapons from enemies.

[edit] Mega Man Zero 4

[edit] Z-Saber

Zero's standard weapon. The Z-Saber has the highest weapon potential through EX Skills and Cyber Elves. Initially, Zero can perform a three slash combo on the ground and a mid-air slash while jumping. In Z4, element bonuses are standard in EX Skills hence they are limited in some other way.

[edit] Z-Buster

Zero's long range weapon, the Z-Buster has unlimited ammo and can be modified to fire 4 different elemental charged shots through EX Skills. The Z-Buster provides rapid fire while standing, running, or on ladders and can be charged up to 3 levels. EX Skills will only effect the 3rd level of charge though Cyber Elf effects can cause modifications.

[edit] Z-Knuckle

The weapon that replaced the Rod and Shield Weapon for this game, the Z-Knuckle offers endless variety.

The Z-Knuckle can be used to punch enemies, pluck obstacles in your way, and hang from wires or handles.

Additionally, the Z-Knuckle can be used to yank weapons off of enemies. This means Zero can get a large variety of weapons, some of which are limited by ammo and some which are endless in usage. Zero can obtain Saber type weapons, Buster type weapons, Rod type weapons, Bomb type weapons, and Shield type weapons.
