Have you been wanting to work on the Megaman NeoPortal for quite some time but you haven't been asked or you haven't done anything to get recognized by the team? Well here's your chance to get recognized!
We're currently looking for more people to join the portal. You may not know this, but keeping information on a portal up to date and accurate is a very large task for just a handful of people. We've come to realize this and we feel that more people are needed. How can you join? It's simple, really. You must first be a registered member of Neoseeker.com. If you're not, then feel free to register. It's free and the only thing you need is a real e-mail address. After you've met that criteria, take a good look around the portal, particularly in areas where you're knowledgeable. If your main area of expertise isn't an option on the portal, then come up with some sample content and send it to me through a NeoPM. I'll be accepting content until we've filled all our vacant staff positions, so there's no rush in getting your sample content in. If your main area of Megaman knowledge is already represented on the Portal, then feel free to use the page suggestion tool to send in your sample content. If it's a new page, though, please send me a NeoPM. Areas we need help on:
All good things must come to an end. The same thing can be said about the Mega Man Battle Network series. With the release of the sixth title, CAPCOM has officially ended the saga. However, with the closing of one chapter in the Mega Man legacy comes the opening of a new chapter for the Nintendo DS. Ryuusei no Rockman, or Rockman of the Meteor Shower as the English translation goes, shares some striking similarities with the Battle Network series in battle, but the game play and storyline are much different. Here is what The Under Square has to say about the storyline.
"Subaru Hoshikawa, having reached the fifth grade, still hasn't recovered from the shock of his father going missing three years ago, and since then days have continued going by that he doesn't even want to go to school. One day, when Subaru is in town, he meets the class chairman Luna Shirogane, and her schoolmates Gonta Ushijima and Kizamaro Saishoin. Luna tries to persuade Subaru into coming to class, though... '...It's bad, but, I don't really care...' says Subaru, who then leaves his classmates. Subaru then comes to an observing platform. 'If I turn this on, I wonder if I can find my father...?' When Subaru turns on the Visualizer that his father used, the "Radio Wave World" appears before Subaru's eyes! Then suddenly, a mysterious light directly hits Subaru! He faints and collapses. When Subaru regains consciousness, the mysterious alien 'Warrock' stands before him. When the Visualizer was exposed to a special 'FM wave,' it awoke a capability in the Visualizer which allows Subaru to see these figures. Warrock tells Subaru that he's an 'FM alien' from the FM world, and that he knows about Subaru's father. When Subaru tries to hear about his father, they're attacked by 'Radio Wave Viruses' from the same planet Warrock is from! Wanting to know about his father, Subaru carrioes out a fusion as Warrock was saying - a 'Radio Wave-ization,' and gets wrapped up in a battle with the radio wave viruses... As he wields Warrock, a delicate change begins to occur in Subaru's heart. Will Subaru be able to return to his upbeat self...!? And, why was Warrock attacked by the radio wave viruses!?" Given this information, it seems as though radio waves are replacing the Internet from the Battle Network series and that in order to turn into the new Mega Man, Subaru and Warrock must fuse in much the same way that Mega Man and Lan utilized Full Synchro in Battle Network 3 at the end of the game. There is also a new system called the Brother Band system which powers up Mega Man, but no further information has been released at this time. With the appearance of the Nintendo Wifi logo on the Brother Band page, there is speculation out there that the pacts created using the Brother Band system between players will be done via Wifi. If that isn't enough, this will make you fall out of your chairs. Ryuusei no Rockman will be released in three separate versions as opposed to the two separate versions of the Battle Network series. The versions have been confirmed as Leo, Draco, and Pegasus. The game's tentative Japanese release date is set for December 2006. No definite date has been announced yet, but as always, Megaman.neo will keep you updated with any information regarding this new series! [Source] By Chaos Swordsman

In a recent article on IGN, a new MegaMan series has been announced for the Nintendo DS.
So far, little is known of it except that it will resemble the now ending EXE series. The game will feature ideas such as Navis, Viruses, HP, and Battle Chips but Capcom has stated that it will use a whole new style of battle (movement, fighting, etc.). What's to expect is unknown but the article does allude to Lan and MegaMan in the background. Whether this series will be a tangent to EXE like ZX is to Z is unknown. There has been no information on the presence or lack of WiFi gameplay. A release date has not been announced in Japan yet though sometime in winter is speculated. If a US version is released, it will most likely be much later. Stay tuned to the portal for more information on the new MegaMan series! By Pyrazor

With the announcement of new Rockman games and the recent ports to the PSP, Capcom has announced that MegaMan Legends (known as Rockman Dash in Japan) will be released on the Nintendo DS. Currently, the touch screen appears as though it will only be a map, but seeing as how there is currently no tentative release date for North America, more features may be added before it is released outside of Japan.

Over the past few weeks, new news, information, and screenshots concerning Capcom's newest Megaman series, Rockman ZX, have been revealed through the likes of foreign magazines and websites.
The basis of the Rockman ZX storyline involves the two characters Vent and Aile, formerly known as Van and Ale, who use the power of Live Metals to transform into the Model X form and take on the appearance of a robot character similar to Mega Man X. The name of a third character has since been announced: Silve, a young boy who shares the name of the shop at which Vent and Aile work, the "Silve Express," is the character who transforms into the Model Z form, though his relationship with Vent and Aile is currently unknown. These three characters, along with their forms, can be seen at Capcom's Official Rockman ZX website. The French website JeuxFrance.com has revealed Rockman ZX-related magazine scans from the Japanese magazines Nintendo Dream and CoroCoro: CoroCoro Scan, Nintendo Dream Scan 1, Nintendo Dream Scan 2, Nintendo Dream Scan 3. If you'll pay close attention to the images in the CoroCoro scan, you'll notice what looks like our first glimpse of the Model ZX form, which is obviously a combination of models Z and X. No official release date has been announced, but the game has a speculated Japanese release date of late 2006, so it probably won't be released in North America or Europe until late 2006 or early 2007. New Rockman ZX details will be revealed as they're uncovered. By 0Zero0

Recently, Capcom of Japan released information about a new series for the Nintendo DS titled MegaMan ZX. The new series stars two new characters called Van and Ale who find a mysterious material known as Live Metal.
With this material, Van can transform into a replica of MegaMan X, while Ale can become a more modernized version of Zero. It is possible that this will allow the two heroes to use a transformation ability like the X series' Axl. The game's artistic style resembles that of the MegaMan Zero series and appears to be a classic platformer. Whether the game will use combat systems like X, Zero, or both remains unknown, but details will be revealed as they are uncovered. Recently, the Japanese MegaMan: Powered Up site has revealed the two new bosses appearing in MegaMan: Powered Up.
First is OilMan. With an oil drop-shaped head and a red scarf, OilMan's stage is- of course- in an Oil Field. His attacks and weapon are unknown, but he can be described as completely black like the oil he represents. His attack is speculated to be some sort of oil spurt capable of combining with FireStorm. Second is TimeMan. His head is shaped like an Alarm Clock, and he even has a clock embedded on his chest. His stage appears to be a tower with several clocks spread throughout the area. His attack is speculated to be similar to that of FlashMan, BrightMan, or other Time Stopping Robot Masters. He may also use a ringing-type attack based on his alarm clock head. By Pyrazor

With the release of Mega Man Battle Network 6 in Japan, new features have been discovered with folder building, and with other aspects of the game. It appears as though the classic feel of EXE gaming is FINALLY back after a long stretch of disappointment in Capcom, and people are saying that this game might actually beat out EXE 2 for the best Battle Network game in history. Here are some of the new features that have not been covered in earlier news postings.
Recently, the EXE6 Site of Japan released a stream of new information regarding Battle Network 6.
1. All Crosses have been listed in addition to Beast Crosses. Where initially it was said that the game would feature the ability to take a powerful form resembling each game's respective beast, Capcom has expanded upon this by allowing the player to cross this Beast Out form with Navi Crosses to form more powerful crosses. Based on screenshots provided, it appears that the Beast Crosses last for a total of two turns if not more. Each cross features a ranged and most likely powerful charged attack but details remain sketchy. Additionally, a foreign site has published information regarding cross abilities. As of now, the Navi Lists and abilities for each game are Falzer AquaMan [AquaCross-Aqua] BubbleShot Charged Shot, Presumably Chip Altering Ability [Indefinite due to Translation],AquaChip HP [5% HP restore with used Aqua Chip] TomahawkMan [TomahawkCross-Wood] Tomahawk Swing Charged Shot, Unknown Wood Chip Ability, Unknown Ability that is "Joint" and "Unusual" TenguMan [TenguCross-Air] Tengu Racket Charged Shot, AirChips+10, Back+B for Fan Effect GroundMan [GroundCross-Breaking] Ground Drill Charged Shot, Breaking Chips+10, SuperArmor, StepDrill Ability [presumably sacrifice chip to turn into a tank] DustMan [DustCross-Breaking] Scrap Reborn Charged Shot, Customs Window Ability [Mentions Discarding Chips to Obtain New Chips? Poor Translation], Press Back while Objects are on Screen for Wind? [Presumably Poiltergeist with another button] Greiga HeatMan [HeatCross-Fire] FireArm Charged Shot, FireChips+50 ElecMan [ElecCross-Elec] ThunderBolt Charged Shot, ElecChips+50, Add Paralysis to Neutral Chips SlashMan [SlashCross-Sword] ArcSlash Charged Shot, SwordChips+50, Step Sword Chips KillerMan [KillerCross-Aiming] KillerEyeBeam Charged Shot, AimingChips+30 ChargeMan [ChargeCross-Fire] ChargeTackle Charged Shot, Custom+1, FireChip Charge [Max of 100 Gain] Surprisingly, neither game features a recovery cross for reasons not specified. 2. The three contest winning Navis for both games have been determined. The winners are CircusMan (a clown looking Navi), JudgeMan (a Navi clad in books), and ElementMan (a Navi with five elemental spheres on a ring attached to his back). 3. Colonel has revealed to be an enemy. Though his motives are not specified, Colonel's appearance as an enemy has been confirmed. By Pyrazor

Capcom of Japan has now confirmed the existence of Crosses, and which version each cross belongs to. There are 3 crosses per version for a total of six.

If you remember, the last news article pertaining to Rock Man EXE 6 (the Japanese title for Mega Man Battle Network 6) revealed the backstory of the two cyber beasts, Falzer and Greiga, and the introduction of the new Beast Out feature. Now, new information has been released, courtesy of Planet Megaman.
From what's been seen so far in the information available for this game, the Beast Out mode will only be available for one turn, but if MegaMan's HP is at a critical level (the digits are in red) when the Beast Out is activiated, MegaMan will enter an uncontrollable "Super Beast Out" mode, which is much like MegaMan DS from the two previous games. Also, Soul Unisons have been replaced by "crosses." No, this is not Cross Fusion. As far as that subject goes, it will probably remain an invention of the NT Warrior anime. Cross Changes are obtained after scenarios which a navi has been involved. You can't get a cross for every navi you face, however. The only crosses that you can receive (which appears to have been confirmed) are from HeatMan, TenguMan, AquaMan, GroundMan, SlashMan, and KillerMan (The "Man" part has not yet been confirmed). Crosses are very similar to Forte Cross Rockman and Sol Cross Rockman that were available in EXE 5 via an E-Reader, but unlike those crosses, the ones in EXE 6 don't last the entire battle. It has also been seen that you can perform a Beast Out while using a Cross Change, but whether or not the Cross Change abilities carry over into the Beast Out is yet to be confirmed. By protomanexe07

New information on Mega Man Battle Network 6 has arrived!
Capcom has now released the full titles for the game. As with every EXE game since the third, Battle Network 6 will also be split up into two separate versions. The two names are Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cyber Beast Falzer, and Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cyber Beast Greiga. This game follows the legend of two different cyber beasts. Apparently, there's an enormous hole somewhere in the cyberworld. Legend has it that in ages past, the two cyber beasts, Falzer and Greiga, who both possessed incredible power, came from this mysterious hole and caused a great struggle as they battled one another. On top of that, they caused havoc directly on the denizens of the cyberworld at the time. Falzer, who is a bird-like beast, was capable of creating large gusts of wind by flapping his wings, and tore programs to shreds with his extremely sharp talons. On the other hand, Greiga, the wolf-like beast, shook the internet with its magnificent howls, and consumed many navis. Somehow, both of these legendary creatures entered a long slumber, and their reality turned into legend. Unfortunately for the cyberworld, it seems that they have to be awakened once more. These cyber beasts play a huge role in the storyline. They are said to be the final bosses of each game, which means that this is the first time that an EXE game with two different versions will not share the same final boss. This could also lead to believe that the games may have separate storylines all together. On top of the Battle Network milestone, these beasts are related to the beast transformation which Megaman receives during the storyline, for which the official name seems to be "Beast Out," and may be fairly similar to the Soul Unison system from EXE 4 and 5. However, information about how this feature works hasn't been released yet, so the actual function is still pure speculation. It appears as though Beast Outs can only be used for a limited amount of time, much like the Soul Unison system it's replacing. Surprisingly, both forms seem to have identical abilities at this point in time. One is a Beast Buster, which is very similar to the Guts Style Machine Gun from EXE 2 and 3, which is activated by firing the MegaBuster in rapid succession. Another ability is a rush-in effect when using Battle Chips. MegaMan will attack at a fast speed, running up right in front of the opposition if necessary. This feature boasts an accuracy rating of 100%. Although the Beast Outs have these same abilities, there will probably be separate abilities for both versions. Capcom will be releasing these versions simultaneously. Japanese gamers can expect this game to be on store shelves on November 23, 2005. This is another first for the Battle Network series, as every game since EXE 2 has had a release date in December, with the exception of the Team Colonel version of Battle Network 5, which had a February release date.
