Sub-Tanks (needs to be ported to the wiki!) There are only four sub-tanks available in the game, but the impact these energy-storing containers can have in a fierce battle is overwhelming, especially when Zero is close to death. Sub-tanks can be filled by gathering health capsules, but note that the health will only be stored in the sub-tanks if Zero's current health meter is completely full. To use the health stored in a sub-tank, pause the game, scroll down and select the SUB TANK field, and use the directional pad to choose and select the tank you want to use. The amount of health Zero will receive depends on the amount of health in the selected tank. If the tank fills Zero's health meter completely, remaining health will be left in the tank for later use, so you don't need to worry about wasting any health.

Forms (needs to be ported to the wiki!) Forms are special enhancements that alter Zero's performance by changing one, two, or all three of the following values: defense, power, and speed. To earn new forms, Zero must fight with a certain style throughout a stage and reach a specific goal, which normally consists of defeating a certain number of enemies with a particular attack. Listed below are the attributes of each form, what abilites they give Zero, and how you go about obtaining them. Unfortunately, only one form can be obtained per stage, even if you meet the criteria to obtain two or three. If this should happen, the form you'll obtain depends on it's location in the following list: Energy, X, Defense, Erase, Active, Power, Rise. You'll obtain the form located at the beginning of the list if you reach the goal for multiple forms, so Energy Form, being the top priority, would prevail over all of the other forms, and Rise Form, residing at the end of the list, would not be obtained over any other forms.
